Coming Home To A Place I've Never Been Before

This morning, I was received into the Orthodox Christian Church by chrismation (anointing with holy oil).  I've been attending the Orthodox Church for almost 18 months and have been blessed by its teaching and its worship. It's been a slow process and bathed in lots of prayer, instruction and questions. It's my desire to record my journey and continuing growth here in this blog. My hope is that it will be helpful to others who find themselves on a similar journey and/or to seekers wanting to find what's missing.

May God be merciful to us all and teach us his way.

New Beginnings, New Horizons

Of all the blogs that I've begun, this one has remained most dear to me, even though it's been long neglected. But today, I believe the time has come to resurrect it. In fact, I think today is the beginning of resurrection for me.

Earlier this morning, I had a moment with Jesus where I came to myself. I decided to return to my Father; and so, the journey home has begun. It began with a small flicker of light but now has become as bright as noon day. And in this brightness, I see the gift of opportunity that God has laid before me. And I choose to follow.

I'm coming home.

Thanks be to God!
